The Master of Science in Architecture prepares graduates who will:
know in detail the history of architecture and construction, instruments and forms of representation, the theoretical and scientific aspects as well as operational methodology of mathematics and other basic sciences and be able to use this knowledge to interpret and describe in detail and construction problems of complex or requiring an interdisciplinary approach;
know in detail the theoretical scientific aspects, and methodological-operational, for the disciplines that characterize the course of study followed and be able to use this knowledge to identify, formulate and solve problems in an innovative way of architecture and construction complex or that require an interdisciplinary approach;
have knowledge in the field of business (corporate culture) and professional ethics;
be able to use fluently, in written and oral, at least one European Union language besides Italian, with reference to disciplinary vocabularies.

Graduates are specialists capable of designing, by means of its architecture and construction, and having mastery of the instruments on the feasibility of the designed building, the operations of construction, alteration and modification of the physical environment, with full understanding of aesthetic aspects, distribution, functional, structural, technical and construction, management, economic and environmental and critical attention to the cultural changes and the needs expressed by society. As urbanization and architecture become key forces shaping life in the 21st century, the Department advances the knowledge in urban development and architecture through research and critical practice, and uses this knowledge to benefit local, regional, and global communities.

The Department encourages strong faculty and student research, scholarship, and public service roles in southern Taiwan’s urban development and architecture education.

The Department established an interdisciplinary program and an international academic network of expertise in sustainable planning and design methods to solve real-world problems.

The Department integrates theory and practice into a curriculum that aims to deepen students’ knowledge and skills in urban development and architecture. The courses offered respond both to our values and to the requirements of the local and regional environments. Students acquire problem-solving skills through coursework and internships, and deal with real-world urban and architectural challenges.

Thus, our initiatives focus on five major themes: “Urban sociology and humanity”, “Urban planning and management”, “Transportation planning and urban construction”, “Construction and technology”, and “Architectural environment and ecology”. These five diversified themes are interwoven throughout the curriculum and lead to the overarching theme of “Environmental planning, design, and practice.”

Faculty of Architecture at Naresuan University

The Faculty of Architecture, Naresuan University, was established in 1996 as a bachelor program in the Faculty of Engineering. The program was elevated to the Faculty of Architecture in 2000 and now provides 2 bachelor programs in apply arts and design: 5-year bachelor program in Architecture and 4-year bachelor program in Packaging Design. The total number of students from both programs is now more than 500. Since 2001, the faculty has produced numbers of graduates who practices in various professions in design disciplines through out the country- mainly in lower northern region. The faculty conducts various researches and provides many public services in Arts, Architecture and Design such as the researches in local arts and architecture conservation, Thai vernacular arts and architecture studies, and local community and urban planning of lower-northern provinces.
