Materials and constructions and their architectural possibilities, as well as spaces and their relations, are seen as the basic elements of architecture.

Space for Healthcare, Housing and Work
The main focus in this programme will be applied projects for buildings for healthcare, housing and work space in collaboration with real users. The work will range from an analysis of specific sites to projects aimed at architectural solutions, both new design and re-designing within the built environment. It is the only architectural programme in Sweden with a healthcare building profile.
Urban design and development

Consider how spatial organisation and design exert an influence and can be used in the development of quality and function of urban life, especially in public space. The students’ studio work is carried out in close co-operation with players in both urban regeneration and new development projects.

PG in Architectural Practice at Birmingham Southern College

Birmingham City University School of Architecture’s (the School) professional practice course and examination are the concluding elements for candidates who have successfully completed their BA (Hons) Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture, or equivalent awards holding recognition for Parts 1 & 2 respectively. The course and examination are both fully recognised and validated internally by the University (hence the above award), and externally by the ARB and the RIBA.

The course is open to all candidates, irrespective of age or background. Candidates who wish to sit for the course and examination should consult with the Course Director, normally twelve months in advance of the examination date being targeted.

BACKGROUND
The Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Arts, began its institutional life under the name “Special Section of Architects and Builders”, being created by President Augusto B. Supreme Decree Leguía April 29, 1910, by the architect Ricardo Malachowski from JAXA, of Polish origin and studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris.

By creating the department, the Department of Architecture, was the first Chief Architect and Director Rafael Marquina andalusia Architect Fernando Belaúnde Terry (later President of the Republic) who was its first dean in 1955, which built the the current local School of Architecture, designed by Architect Mario Bianco.

SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE COLLEGE STUDENT
Library
Considered the best library in the country in the field, together with a large heritage for many years and always updating. This update also includes means for recording and accessing documents which accurately and quickly find more than 12,000 books, 7,000 magazines, 5,000 theses and research projects, as well as maps, newspapers and other documents and monographs. Soon have new facilities and club music video library selected.

Auditorium
Is the most modern of UNI, auditorium for 300 people, with audio and video installations in which all kinds of cultural and academic events, highlighted by its unique design and beauty.

Academic Computing Lab
Facilities available to the student from the first cycle. It consists of machines networked with all UNI and programs to different areas. In the laboratory Graphics Training Systems provides training in the area beside Graphics technical information, statistics and geo-referenced data.

Workshops
We design workshops, not shared with other courses.
It has rooms according to the dictation of courses in all its forms as well as major events. Other environments are specialized photography workshop, the Arts Workshop, the Workshop Model and Service Printing and Publications. We have a great atmosphere for exhibitions and open spaces for outdoor events.

Assessment of BArch in Architecture at Nottingham Trent University

Assessment
Design studio modules are assessed through project work building up to a design portfolio. To encourage the invaluable studio culture typical of architects’ and designers’ practice, it is considered essential that you demonstrate an understanding of the design process and present work in progress to your tutors and peers on a regular basis. Final assessments will normally coincide with an exhibition and group presentation. It is crucial for your progress and the course’s accreditation by professional bodies that you can demonstrate appropriate levels of understanding and ability to complete each year of the course through the body of work acquired and the overall design portfolio.

Following successful completion of years one and two, the final degree award comprises 20% of the overall year two mark and 80% of the overall year three mark. No marks from year one are carried over into the degree assessment.

Open days
All potential applicants are encouraged to visit the School before applying and talk to course tutors and support staff. This will allow you to answer some standard interview questions with some confidence and knowledge. The School has open events each year which give you the opportunity to view examples of student work and see the course environment and facilities. Members of staff will be available to answer specific questions, and you will also be able to see students in action.

Place of study
The exciting new School, bringing together strengths from built environment, design and technology, is based at the City site. This is the largest of the three sites and it boasts the £13 million Boots Library, the Bonington Gallery, sports facilities and a large Students’ Union building. These are all within walking distance of university residences, good quality private sector accommodation, as well as the city’s many shops, sporting venues, restaurants, clubs and bars.

The School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment offers a wide range of facilities including laboratories, workshops, studios and CAD suites. Linking the creativity of design and engineering, the School also works closely with the internationally renowned School of Art and Design. Teaching centres around the application of creativity, imagination and innovation with product design, civil engineering, surveying and property.

Your future career
Comprehensive research into the career choices of architecture first degree graduates shows a range of options. Apart from architecture practice, graduates can also be found in other design disciplines, with around 75% of graduates being employed in the construction and business services and in public administration. Architectural education is wide-ranging, and is recognised by employers as most valuable in preparing graduates for the production of creative solutions to complex scenarios in a range of related disciplines. Master of Architecture at New York Institute of Technology

NYIT’s School of Architecture and Design offers a graduate Master of Architecture in Urban and Regional Design. It is a three-semester, 36-credit, post-professional degree for those holding a Bachelor in Architecture degree. The program’s three advanced design studios address urban and suburban design and architecture in the context of their region. These studios explore the relationship of design at many scales from personal to global dimensions.

Cities, towns, suburbs and neighborhoods are interdependent, and to understand the viability of each requires the investigation of their interdependence. It is important to study urban, suburban, and rural neighborhoods as part of a unified region of human settlement. The design studios investigate individual buildings, whole neighborhoods, civic centers, and metropolitan infrastructure together in ways that consider the impact of such intervention on the whole region’s environment. There is an emphasis on the consideration and critique of the historical, physical, social, political, and philosophical context.

The program provides a theoretical and historical understanding of the origin and the socio-political function of cities. It also makes use of a range of design tools, including computer mapping of physical density, demographics, land-use, transportation and ecological information as well as dynamic, interactive, multi-dimensional modeling. Designs investigate the relationship between creating a plan of space as well as the operational issues that must also be designed or organized to implement that plan.
