The natural landscape, untouched by human intervention, is now hard to find. The cultural landscape with its many forms is shaped by historical and modern management. There are coastal landscape, mining landscape, the park landscape or the arable land, to name a few. The settlement area belongs to the landscape.
There is talk of town and village landscape, garden landscape and scenery of the roof gardens and tenants.
The Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture is the first of its kind in Taiwan. The program integrates the rationalism of planning analysis and the subjective sensibilities of landscaping design into a holistic training program. It provides students with both technical abilities and fine arts background and leads to a degree as well as expertise in the profession. The four-year curriculum combines planning, design, landscaping, and computing into a framework with our major fields: urban planning, landscape architecture, land development and real estate, and computer aided design application.
The Architecture Department in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design has been
offering graduate programs at the Master degree level since 1972.
The M.S. Arch. degree is a minimum one-year (individual students may take 18-24 months)
post-professional degree with a focus on advanced areas of specialization within the broader field
of Architecture and Environmental Design. It prepares graduates for:
• Entry into the design and construction professions at levels involving greater
responsibility and/or requiring advanced knowledge in a particular domain.
• Teaching positions requiring an area of specialization within the disciplines of
architecture, construction, architectural engineering and landscape architecture.
• Entry into the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry as a
consultant or specialist, serving in the capacity of innovator and facilitator to connect
the design disciplines with ancillary industry sectors. Please note that the M.S.Arch.
program is not a first professional degree for architectural licensing preparation, but
rather a research degree for purposes of specialization.
• Follow-on research and studies at the doctoral level.
• Professional renewal and mid-career changes to take advantage of new opportunities
in emerging industrial and professional domains.
By virtue of the polytechnic nature of the University, the areas of specialization that can be
supported in the M.S. Arch. program are largely technical. Three special study areas have been
consolidated into strong offerings over the past twelve years: Computer-Aided Design,
Architectural Science, and Facilities Management.
Each M.S. Arch. student selects a Thesis Committee of at least three professors. While the
committee chair must be a faculty member in the Architecture Department, most committees
include at least one faculty member from another department or an external professional. For
example, students undertaking the Computer-Aided Design special study area often have one
faculty member from the Computer Science Department on their Thesis Committee. The Thesis
Committee advises the student on all aspects of the selected research study. The Graduate
Coordinator advises all of the M.S. Arch. students on matters pertaining to progression through
the degree.

Required in advance for this program to achieve the following:
1. To obtain a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture or landscape architecture or urban planning a cumulative rate of no less than “good” from an accredited university.
2nd Knowledge of credit information in Aljgerafbp systems (GIS): Students have successfully completed a course accredited in geographic information systems. Uday and that the student must register for the course of geographic information systems from the Department of Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering Department, in this case is of course within the catch-required courses for the program.
3rd A personal interview in cases in which the Council considers it necessary.
4th Add to that the other conditions set forth in the academic regulations for postgraduate studies at Bir Zeit University.
Graduation Requirements:
Required to end the program and a degree of “Master of Engineering in Urban Planning and landscape architecture,” the termination of at least 36 credit hours of required materials (except for catch) Turkizin in one of the following: urban planning or landscape architecture. The distribution of those hours as follows:

Master’s program in engineering and urban planning landscape architecture
College of Engineering study program leading to a master’s degree in “engineering and urban planning landscape architecture,” The program consists of two Turkizin urban planning and landscape architecture, and a total of 36 hours credit hours. The program aims to achieve the following objectives:

Entry Requirements
An average tarriff point offer is likely to be 230, including a minimum of two subjects at A2 or equivalent.

Applicants for this course will be invited to present a portfolio to demonstrate their design ability.
Careers
The course is fully recognised and accredited by The Landscape Institute. Landscape architects are employed in a wide range of national, private and public practices in this country and abroad. Successful candidates can also pursue environmental design based careers in related fields, such as landscape management or landscape planning.
Students who graduate from the course at the appropriate level have access to Birmingham City University’s Postgraduate Diploma course in Landscape Architecture, which provides access to graduate membership of The Landscape Institute, the profession’s governing body.
Course Content
At Level 4 (first year of full-time study) the modules provide students with an introduction to landscape architecture. Modules include design methodology, landscape design history, the earth sciences, and computer aided design, as well as graphics, IT and visual communication. The central focus of the year is a systematic series of design projects which enable students to apply the material from the taught courses and enable the development of basic design skills.
The Level 5 modules build upon Level 1 work in order to teach more creative and experimental approaches to landscape design, and include modules dealing with design theory and process, landscape planning and urban design, graphics, communication, landscape science and technology, and a series of design projects each of which focuses on one aspect of the creative design process. They include planting and construction technology, strategic landscape design, and the design of detail elements.
As the course progresses more student choice is available, and Level 6 provides students with an opportunity to develop their individual strengths and confidence in design, through enabling students to choose their specialist studies from a range of options. Modules at this level include theory, culture and society, technology and complementary skills, and two major design projects, each of which lasts one semester.
The course also offers opportunities for field study tours in England and Europe, as well as study exchange opportunities in America.
Assessment
The majority of learning is through course work and therefore most modules are assessed by coursework based on continuous assessment.
This course is designed for students interested in environmental issues and design of the landscape. Landscape architecture is a well-established discipline which encompasses the study of design, environmental and cultural issues as well as the technical skills which enable landscape designs to be implemented.
In recent years the practice of landscape architecture has been dealing with an increasingly wide variety of exciting topics, ranging from large-scale landscape planning projects through to high quality city centre and urban landscape projects. This course provides students with strongly design-orientated approach to the subject, which equips graduates with the skills necessary to operate effectively across a wide range of design projects and topics. It provides students with the skills, confidence and ability to meet the challenges of the professional landscape architect in today’s society.
