The bachelor degree programme in Construction Design and Economics provides you with a solid foundation after taking account of the different entry qualifications of the students. The wide-ranging degree programme focuses on the Architecture and Civil Engineering branches of study, which are continued in the subsequent master degree programmes.

Entry Requirements
-Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering.
Bachelor of Technology-UTU, guidelines related to Architecture, Construction or Civil Engineering.
-Baccalaureate of any guidance adopted at least one area of university assessment and examination skills.
Diversified Scientific-Baccalaureate Options Physics-Mathematics or Mathematics and Design.
Diversified-Baccalaureate Art and Expression, Math and Design Option.
Duration
5 years plus six months for delivery of the report to run

Morning: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:00.
Note: advanced semesters are held at night.

Technology – Structural Engineering and Architecture – master
The programme of study offers the combined scientific and technological qualifications that society needs in connection with operations and innovations in business activities, management and research. The programme represents a continuance of the former study programme Civil Engineering, and at UMB it is connected to subject areas that are central to the maintenance and development of a sustainable society.Graduates are qualified to work as property managers in larger businesses, as construction manager/project manager in construction companies or as a planner in an engineering or architect\’s office. They can also work as planners, consultants and chief building inspectors in municipalities and counties.
The School of Architecture also offers a non-professional four-year undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Architecture. BS in Architecture is designed to lead into a series of accelerated graduate degrees such as construction management (BS in Architecture/MS in Civil Engineering), infrastructure planning (BS in Architecture/Master in Infrastructure Planning), management (BS in Architecture/MS in Management; BS in Architecture, MBA), or professional graduate degree in Architecture (BS in Architecture/M.Arch.) leading to licensure.
This programme leads to the B Arch degree and is geared primarily towards the architectural profession. Architecture is all about the art and science of building.
It involves the creation of living environments that meet the requirements of a complex society. Core to architecture is the balance between physical beauty and the practical use of space.
The UCD School of Architecture, Landscape & Civil Engineering provides a unique forum for interaction between research, teaching and the practice of architecture and is at the forefront of the architectural and urban design debate in Ireland.
Design is the central activity of the degree and, in this context, the ability to make judgements on appropriate solutions and the exercise of visual awareness is extremely important. While the necessary skills in drawing are taught as part of the syllabus, the prospective student needs to have an aptitude for representation techniques and creativity.
