Requirement of Master in landscape architecture at Birzeit University

Entry requirements:

Required in advance for this program to achieve the following:

1. To obtain a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture or landscape architecture or urban planning a cumulative rate of no less than “good” from an accredited university.

2nd Knowledge of credit information in Aljgerafbp systems (GIS): Students have successfully completed a course accredited in geographic information systems. Uday and that the student must register for the course of geographic information systems from the Department of Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering Department, in this case is of course within the catch-required courses for the program.

3rd A personal interview in cases in which the Council considers it necessary.

4th Add to that the other conditions set forth in the academic regulations for postgraduate studies at Bir Zeit University.

Graduation Requirements:

Required to end the program and a degree of “Master of Engineering in Urban Planning and landscape architecture,” the termination of at least 36 credit hours of required materials (except for catch) Turkizin in one of the following: urban planning or landscape architecture. The distribution of those hours as follows:

1. Catch the special requirements:
The Committee may request that the student in accepting the termination of the remedial courses undergraduate level, so that no more than (6) credit hours. The use of these materials to ensure a basic scientific common to all students in various fields.

2nd Compulsory courses:

It consists of (13) credit hours which is common to both Turkizin:
UPLA621 methodology of scientific research and methods of analysis.
UPLA623 history of landscape architecture.
UPLA631 principles of urban and regional planning.
UPLA632 an integrated development project.
UPLA635 policies and theories of planning and social issues.
3rd Special focus courses, consisting of (11) credit hours as follows:

1:3 private courses to focus urban planning, which consists of the following:

- Compulsory courses (5 credit hours) are:
UPLA6332 planning infrastructure.
UPLA6222 regional economy and urbanization.

- Optional courses (6 credit hours): Students choose one course from each of the following groups:

The first group: transport, environment and urban environmental management:
UPLA6342 transportation planning.
UPLA7322 urban environmental management.
UPLA7362 maps and aerial photography.
UPLA7382 special topics in the built environment.
UPLA7392 land management

Group B: Urban design and development.
UPLA6372 models of urban development.
UPLA6382 Rehabilitation and preservation of the physical.
UPLA7332 social factors in the design of housing.

Advanced design UPLA7342 AMRANI.
UPLA7372 special topics in urban design.

2:3 private courses and the focus of landscape architecture is composed as follows:

- Compulsory courses (5 credit hours) are:
UPLA6321 Aletbiw and gardening in the landscape.
UPLA6241 landscape design and construction methods / 1.

- Optional courses (6 credit hours) selected by the student from among the following courses:
UPLA7311 landscape design and construction methods / 2.
UPLA7331 computer in the virtual reality of the landscape architecture.
UPLA7341 the design of external spaces and housing.
UPLA7351 design spaces of the private use.
UPLA7361 the design of spaces for the infrastructure.
UPLA7371 special topics in landscape architecture.
UPLA7381 management scene.
