Department of Architecture Art Conservation at National Taiwan University of Arts
In view of the facts that traditional sculptural arts is disappearing seriously and there is no any related department or graduate school, the Ministry of Education and Legislative Yuan proposed that this department should be set up to train the specialists in preserving the historic sites. For the sake of carrying forward the traditional crafts, maintaining the important historic sites, and preserving the national arts, the college decides to have the department established on the basis of the outstanding achievements of it’s predecessor, National Taiwan Academy of Arts, and set the departmental targets according to the above considerations. Therefore, the Traditional Craft Department is then permitted to recruit students form 2000 academic year.
Research Focus:
The mission of this department are to study and preserve Taiwan traditional cultural characteristics and information; and inherit the traditional folk arts and crafts, and maintain professionally the historic sites.especially for the historic allusion,changes of drawig ＆ manuscript,and preservation of information in traditional culture ,the department will keep and maintain systematically,and set up a complete system for the important field investigation of cultural assets.
