The course focuses on architectural technology as a discipline at the interface between the theoretical aspects of conceptual design and the practicalities of building construction, with a particular emphasis on sustainable developments. The course explores ways of developing effective technological solutions to building design that can be constructed economically and have least impact on the environment.

On this course you will be encouraged to take a practical, experimental and imaginative approach to devising appropriate solutions to building design scenarios. The course will enable you to experience the practice of architectural technology and gain a sound understanding and knowledge of design, technology and professional practice and develop the necessary subject specific and other generic skills to prepare you for a career in architectural technology or for further study. UCA Canterbury offer a one year BA (Hons) degree which is designed specifically to top-up this foundation degree to a full honours qualification.
