Creative and scientific subject matter and methods are presented not as an additional, but as an integrated part of the course of study Architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts. The integral view of the teaching syllabus is apparent also in the inclusion of social questions, which are related to architecture. The course of study at the University shows some exceptional features. Thus
architectural studies are integrated with urban planning,
interdisciplinary subjects are part of the syllabus,
there is a semester with professional practical training and accompanying seminar and subsequent practical roject,
targeted exchanges with other courses of study and faculties are promoted.
The course of study is structured into the fields of work theory and history, image and space, planning and design, construction and technology as well as projects. Work on projects begins after two semesters of basic tuition. Studies focus on concepts of design with emphasis on an experimental approach. The last semester serves to consolidate individual study profiles through optional required subjects.

Competitions
For the winter semester 07/08 was the authorization for the course architecture changed. The current eligibility determination process was abolished. It follows that the application process no longer talks to take place.
After deduction of the advance rates (foreigners, second degree, hardship cases), 90% of students on a university’s own selection process and 10% to the candidate with the longest waiting time awarded.
Competitions

Admission Requirements
You need one of the following qualifications:
General Hochschulreife or
Subject-specific Hochschulreife in Baden-Württemberg with a technical orientation
Graduated from a technical high school in Baden-Württemberg

Architects plan and design the habitat of the human influence. Buildings and groups of buildings for the living, working and recreation, indoor spaces, neighborhoods and entire settlements are the result of her work. College Eligibility
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. Applicants with an OSSD showing senior English and/or mathematics courses at the Basic Level, or with Workplace or Open courses, will be tested to determine their eligibility for admission; OR
Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate; OR
General Educational Development (GED); OR
Mature Student status (19 years of age or older and without a high school diploma at the start of the program). Eligibility may be determined by academic achievement testing for which a fee of $40.00 will be charged.
Program Eligibility
English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or equivalent, is required).
Mathematics, Grade 12 (MAP4C, or a mathematics with a similar content, is required).
Applicants who have been out of school for a period of time are encouraged to take a refresher course in mathematics prior to the start of classes.
Refresher/upgrading courses are available through Career and College Preparation (CCP) courses, the School of Part-time Studies and through local school boards.
Should the number of qualified applicants exceed the number of available places, applicants will be selected on the basis of their proficiency in English and mathematics.
Tuition Fees: $1,060.00 per term in Levels 01 and 02 and $1,050.40 per term in Levels 03 and 04.
Information Technology Fee: $50.00 per term. *
Incidental Fees: $110.00 in Level 01, $145.00 in Level 02 and $85.00 in Level 03 and 04.
Student Activity/Sports Fee: $150.50 per term.
Student Centre Building Fee: $17.50 per term.
Health Service Fee: $10.00 per term.
Health Plan Fee: $123.08 paid once annually. **
A $35.00 graduation fee is payable in the final term.
A $25.00 transcript fee is payable in the first term a student attends Algonquin College.
International Students pay all relevant Canadian fees plus an International Premium of $4,200.00 per term.

Books and supplies cost approximately $875 in the first year and $400 in the second year. Most books and supplies can be purchased in the campus bookstore. It would be recommended that students purchase a computer and a high speed data line.
